Job Title: Roastery Barista

Position Summary
The Roastery Barista is responsible for mastering and serving beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty beverages. They are also responsible for taking customer orders.

High School Diploma
Experience as a Barista
Customer service experience
Passion for all things coffee
Teachable, with ability to teach guests, and volunteers, coffee related skills
Ability to interact well with clients facing homelessness, addiction, or hardship
Position Responsibilities
Courteously greeting and assisting while anticipating customers’ needs
Preparing and serving food items and beverages by following Roastery-approved recipes
Promoting and recommending menu options to customers with goal of upselling
Maintain knowledge of trends in the coffee industry
Handle customer service issues in a professional manner
Operate point of sale devices with financial accuracy and integrity
Answer phone calls and communicate in a professional manner
Store opening/closing as scheduled and adhere to opening/closing procedures
Maintain cleanliness of entire store by picking up, straightening, cleaning, and organizing
Check if brewing machines are operating properly and report any maintenance needs to management
Welcome and actively work along volunteers and OG Works participants
Ensure compliance with DHEC sanitation and food safety regulations
Assists in maintaining proper inventory of coffee, food, and roastery supplies
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
