Position Overview:
Oliver Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner who will be responsible for organizing the production of printing projects using the most efficient and economical methods available. This role isn't just about managing jobs; it's about owning the process from start to finish. As a key player in our organization, you'll work with talented teams across sales, production, and design, bringing complex projects to life with precision and flair. About the Role:
In this opportunity as a Production Planner, you will:
- Review sales orders and quotations to determine production requirements.
- Accurately understand the specifications that were estimated and compare to project requirements.
- Communicate with Customer Service department, and department supervisors to determine any and all information necessary for accurate production planning.
- Gather production information such as DG numbers, new die, and number up. Mark and define number of colors and verify manufacturing process needed.
- Plan paper requirements based on chosen form of production, customer requirements and other performance considerations (grain, coating, etc.).
- Complete sheeting requisitions for date, quantity, and size.
- Process any outside purchases that are required in the completion of a project (i.e., dies, paper, stamping, etc.).
About You:
You're a fit for the role of Production Planner, if your background includes:
- The Production Planner is expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes necessary to accurately and economically produce products, which meet customer requirements.
- The Planner is expected to understand the forms of production that are most economical and plan jobs that are consistent with the operating procedures of Disc Graphics.
- High school diploma: college degree is preferred.
- Minimum five years' experience in production and/or printing.
- Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, and ability to learn new computer systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Multi-task in fast paced environment with good organization skills.
- Read and understand documents such as business correspondence, and/or procedures manuals and to write letters, memos and instructions. Ability to respond to complex inquiries and/or complaints from customers and to speak to customers and/or Disc employees in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to calculate area, circumference, and volume and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions and to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must have excellent close vision, and ability to identify/distinguish colors.
