What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP, Claims Manager - General Liability - up to $220,000 position at Oliver James Associates?
A leading insurance carrier is looking to hire an AVP, General Liability Claims. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing a team of 5 claims professionals handling mid to complex commercial general liability claims (including premise liability, product liability, slip & falls and other wide ranging bodily injury). Along with driving performance of the team, you will be a technical referral point for complex claims matters within CGL.
Job Requirements.
- 5 years leadership experience within commercial general liability claims (gained at an insurance carrier)
- The ability to drive performance and grow a claims team, including managing senior claims examiners
- Excellent technical knowledge of premise liability, product liability, property damage BI and other BI cases
- Extensive exposure to litigation and coverage investigation essential - including large loss CGL policies
- Exceptional customer service capability. Excellent relationship management capability
- Experience managing a team that handle claims across multiple states
This is an office based role and from NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Hartford or Los Angeles, with an excellent base salary up to $220,000 25% on target bonus and benefits. The role has an excellent route of progression to senior leadership. Please note we cannot consider remote or hybrid candidates for this role.
