About the Role
This high-impact position will work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), ensuring the seamless execution of financial operations while driving cross-functional initiatives. The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in planning, stakeholder management, and process optimization-enabling the CAO to focus on high-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive Support & Prioritization - Manage the CFO's schedule, ensuring time is allocated to strategic priorities while coordinating and delegating routine meetings.
- Meeting Preparation & Decision Support - Prepare materials for CFO meetings, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing proactive recommendations.
- Stakeholder & Inquiry Management - Act as a key liaison between the CFO and internal/external stakeholders, managing inquiries, escalating critical issues, and ensuring clear communication.
- Finance Initiatives & Business Operations - Oversee key accounting and finance projects, including system upgrades, compliance initiatives, and finance transformation efforts.
- Financial Reporting & Performance Monitoring - Track and analyze key financial metrics (KPIs, controls, audits), ensuring governance, accuracy, and clarity in all financial materials, including investor relations and board reports.
- Leadership Engagement & Team Development - Support finance leadership by communicating deliverables, fostering collaboration, and driving professional growth within the team.
- Meeting & Communication Oversight - Organize and facilitate finance leadership meetings, investor relations engagements, and executive presentations, ensuring consistency in messaging.
- Process Optimization & Special Projects - Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, lead governance enhancements, and manage high-priority financial risk assessments and cross-functional initiatives.
Key requirements upon application:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 5 years of experience as Chief of Staff, or in a similar role, with a proven ability to coordinate and lead projects.
- Extensive experience preparing and presenting board-level materials, including facilitating decision-making processes.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the insurance industry is required.
- Strong background in managing senior meetings, stakeholder coordination, and resource allocation to support strategic initiatives.
- Experience with Adobe or PDF products and secure document management systems for delivering materials.
Compensation:
- Pending on candidate experience. Competitive base salary and bonus. No equity.
Location:
- This role will sit remote however international travel is required.
