Senior GAAP Accountant - P&C Insurance
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong GAAP expertise and a background in the insurance industry? This Senior GAAP Accountant role offers the chance to work with a leading insurance company that values technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including quarterly and annual filings
- Partner with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support financial reviews
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and evolving regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, actuarial, and risk management
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the insurance industry or public accounting
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with experience in statutory accounting a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
