What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Pricing Manager position at Oliver James?
A great opportunity to join a leading speciality insurer that's best known for their personal and commercial auto offerings. This is a management position, giving you 2-3 direct reports, within the personal auto team.
The role reports into the VP of Pricing, with two decades of experience within the actuarial market, offering you the chance to learn from a seasoned professional who can take your career to the next level.
You will develop a variety of skill sets preventing you from becoming silo-ed into one part of the pricing function. A candidate should be able to handle objectives, pricing methodology, rate making, state development, and manage.
You will have high visibility by working with key stakeholders across the actuarial, underwriting, product, and data science teams while developing pricing and product strategies.
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field, or the equivalent in related work experience.
Minimum of 7 years of actuarial P&C experience. Minimum 5 years of pricing experience with strong preference for personal auto experience.
Minimum 4 Actuarial Exams passed showing progress towards Associate (ACAS) or Fellow (FCAS) of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Experience managing actuarial analysts and leading peer reviews.
Strong understanding of actuarial ratemaking methodologies and practices.
Perform actuarial pricing analysis independently and makes reasonable assumptions/judgments.
Understand and make observations on market implications of business strategies.
Proficiency in SQL, SAS, VBA, Python or R.
Preference will be for candidates that can work hybrid out of our Alpharetta, GA office. Remote candidates must be able to work Eastern hours.
