Our client, a globally recognized and esteemed carrier is growing their Middle Markets division within the Midwest. They are seeking experienced commercial underwriting professionals in consideration for three openings.

There are two openings within general industries P&C and one opening in Private Equity P&C. All positions are open at the Sr. Underwriter or AVP level.

Responsibilities
- Leverage existing retail broker relationships to generate new business, prioritizing market-facing production responsibilities
- Service both new and renewal business, with autonomy over a personal book of business
- Collaborate with team members, brokerage partners, and management to achieve company growth goals
- Collaborate closely with retail brokers to negotiate the coverage scope for mid-market and large-scale US domestic clients.
- Support the continuous extension and enhancement of underwriting standards and practices to maximize business performance and customer satisfaction.
- Provide well-informed, strategic insights and decisions to refine risk selection and manage potential exposure effectively.
Qualifications
- Profound knowledge and proven experience in commercial package underwriting, specifically in property and casualty insurance within general industries or the private equity sector.
- Expert ability to interact efficiently with retail brokers serving the US domestic market, particularly in mid-market and large account segments.
- Adept in evaluating, proposing, and implementing insurance policies in strictly regulated, government-admitted markets.
- Strong analytical skills, with a robust capability to assess risk and make decisions under tightly regulated conditions.
- 5 years of commercial underwriting experience for consideration at the Sr. Underwriter level
- 7 years of commercial underwriting experience for consideration at the AVP level
