Oliver James are seeking hands-on candidate to lead the accounting functions for a start-up life insurance company. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial reporting, optimizing performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting the company's long-term growth.

Founded five years ago, the company is set to grow actively participating in the M&A space and taking on reinsurance deals across the platform.Privately owned by a leading asset management firm.A lean but experienced executive team, offering an opportunity to build, lead, and shape financial operations from the ground up .Your Role & Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee US Statutory (STAT) and GAAP financial reporting .Manage Blue Book reporting, asset schedules (B, BA), and regulatory filings .Ensure compliance with rating agencies and investment management diligence.Operational & Regulatory Oversight
Supervise financial controls, risk management, and reinsurance accounting .Partner with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.Implement best practices for financial systems and reporting efficiencies.Financial Leadership
Establish and oversee accounting, financial reporting, and capital management functions.Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.What We're Looking For
Experience & Expertise
10 years of progressive finance experience within life and / or annuities insurance / reinsurance .CPA, MBA, or CFA highly desired .Deep expertise in STAT, GAAP, and insurance accounting .Knowledge of MYGA, FIA, and other life insurance products highly desired.Leadership & Growth Potential
Ready to transition from a controller-level role in a growing company.Ability to develop and mentor finance teams while fostering a collaborative culture.Comfortable operating in a small but dynamic environment , balancing hands-on execution with strategic leadership.Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and drive results under tight deadlines .Compensation
