Tax Supervisor

Oliver James have partnered exclusively with a highly successful financial services group based out of St Petersburg, FL who specialise within the insurance and technology sectors across the US. Having grown and added new businesses to their portfolio, they are looking to facilitate their growth by making various additions across their team including a Tax Supervisor to work closely alongside their Vice President of Tax.

Our client, a renowned leader in the Insurance industry, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Tax Supervisor to join their established team of professionals.



Responsibilities:

• Preparation of federal and multi-state corporate income tax filings and associated work papers, including consolidations and unitary return filings.
• Manage fixed asset software, including review of capitalized assets, calculation of federal and state depreciation, and preparation of tangible property tax returns.
• Preparation and submission of tax filing extensions and estimated tax payments.
• Responding to tax notices and communications with federal and state tax authorities.
• Assist with the completion and review of corporate income tax provisions (ASC 740/FAS 109).
• Research federal and state tax laws and assist with tax department administration.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA a Plus!
• 5 years of experience in corporate tax department.
• Experience with federal and multi-state corporate income tax return preparation is necessary.
• Ability to manage fixed assets, understanding of tax depreciation concepts preferred.
• Insurance tax experience (Property and casualty) is a plus.
• Knowledgeable with tax return preparation and research software platforms.
