About the Role
We're seeking a Director of Finance to lead accounting operations for one of our hotel properties. This individual will ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role also oversees core accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, vendor relationships, inventory, internal controls, and team development.
This is a hands-on leadership role best suited for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about financial integrity, process improvement, and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting operations and daily hotel financial activity
- Oversee payroll, A/P, A/R, vendor relations, taxes, and inventory systems
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
- Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and tax reports
- Provide financial insight and reporting to leadership and ownership groups
- Train, develop, and support finance staff, including a Controller and Staff Accountant
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and systems
- Support operational departments in understanding financial processes and performance
- Lead or support financial audits and related activities
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in hotel finance/accounting leadership roles
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant DOF, or DOF required
- Strong understanding of full-service hotel operations including F&B
- Proficient with hospitality accounting platforms (M3 preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close processes
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
- Familiarity with state and federal tax reporting requirements

- Experience implementing new systems or improving reporting workflows
- Track record of mentoring finance teams and developing talent
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving hospitality environment
