What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Olivero?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist in seating guests according to seating chart and server rotation
- Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information about the restaurant
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Manage waitlists during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates
- Collaborate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth dining experience for guests
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate to management if necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with RESY and TOAST or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus
- Strong phone etiquette and ability to handle high call volumes
- Knowledge of food service and restaurant operations is beneficial
