What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Olivet Church?
SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong computer skills (able to manage multiple online platforms. i.e. Google Workspace, Microsoft for Nonprofit, Canva, Microsoft Office, etc), Strong graphic design and marketing/communications background, basic record keeping, able to work with diverse populus of people.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Pleasant personality, able to keep confidences, able to work independently
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the pastor
Assist Pastor with weekly updates and printing needs
Marketing/Communications:
Create weekly post through social media channels based on information given by the pastor
Use Subsplash software to update and maintain monthly calendar, website, mobile app, and event calendar
Clip YouTube Video from Sunday Service
Create Youtube Shorts/Facebook Reels based on the week’s message
Post weekly devotional from the pastor
Create graphics for upcoming message series and Sunday morning slides
Update graphics for TV Loop
Send weekly email to distribution list
Create/design communication handouts (Monthly Service, Events, Holidays, Seek Him, Visitor cards).
Create/design Signage, Event posters/banners, and other outreach tools
Create/design postcard mailer for Christmas and Easter through Outreach
Support church ministries with graphic design, handouts, and event registration
Administrative:
Order small group books on request
Organize & compile all Admin Council Reports. Send out prior to meetings.
Organize & compile Annual Church Conference reports
Update and maintain wall and desk calendar
Update Outside Sign as directed by pastor
Clerical:
Update and maintain record of weekly worship attendance
Keep official records of membership, baptisms, deaths and marriages
Keep membership records current as necessary
Sort mail and distribute as necessary
File church paperwork as necessary
Answer phone and take messages
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 16 per week
