The University of Olivet is seeking a Laboratory Simulation Clinical Coordinator to support the Nursing Program and join their growing team!
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Lab/Sim/Clinical Coordinator is a 12-month, full time staff. The Lab/Sim/Clinical Coordinator will plan, operate, coordinate and oversee the lab and simulation experiences related to the prelicensure Bachelor of Nursing program. This includes collaborating with clinical instructors and didactic faculty to facilitate simulation experiences needed for clinical experience. In addition, as the Lab/Sim/Clinical Coordinator, this individual works as the administrative assistant to the director of nursing to coordinate and manage clinical placements for all clinical experiences through further clinical networking, participation in the local clinical consortiums, and routine clinical site evaluation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Nursing Director in accomplishing the goals.
- Provide daily support within the skills and simulation laboratories.
- Collaboration with clinical placement sites.
- Confidential record keeping for health requirements for clinical placements.
- Answers emails, phone calls and greets people to the division, directs them as appropriate.
- Sets appointments, crafts and replies to correspondence.
- Takes minutes at meetings.
- Completes various academic forms and directs them to the appropriate individuals and offices.
- Orders office and laboratory supplies.
- Schedules courses with the Registrar’s office and helps with catalog copy.
- Coordinates assessment and evaluation, grading and academic record keeping.
- Assists with budget records and resource allocation.
- Updates handbooks and course plans.
- Assists Nursing Director and faculty members in the execution of their secretarial duties.
- Assists in maintenance of records.
- Help students upon faculty referral for remediation.
- Act as the liaison with other departments or outside entities in scheduling the use of the simulation lab.
- Maintain a policies and procedures manual for the labs.
- Provide nursing faculty/staff with instructional tools and technical support to perform simulation sessions.
- Maintain supervised scheduled lab hours as necessary.
- Provide input for budget preparation regarding equipment, supplies and materials for simulation and basic nursing lab.
- Facilitate and secure clinical placement for each cohort each semester.
- Visit each active clinical site on a routine basis and submit a clinical placement report to the nursing division for evaluation of clinical sites.
- Orient and manage clinical instructors.
- Attend Clinical Placement Consortium meetings and submit changes as necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with nursing simulation creation and management
- Demonstrated skill in technological literacy, communication, organization, collaboration, and problem solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Educational background in healthcare (preferred).
- Evidence of successful past experiences or education with simulation technology or health care compliance.
- Demonstrated skill in technological literacy, communication, organization, collaboration, and problem solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at the college and with clinical partners.
- Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
