Dog Grooming Assistant

Job Overview
Olivia's Pack LLC is a small business located on the Newark/Elkton line, bringing in lots of new furry faces from all surrounding cities! We offer personalized dog training, grooming, and pet sitting services. We are seeking a dog-loving Grooming Assistant/ Bather to join our team and help our Certified Professional Dog Groomer tackle our high demand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals and providing top-notch grooming services to dogs.

Duties
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, blow drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning and teeth brushing

- Main priority will be to prepare the dogs for their haircut with the Certified Groomer using the grooming services above
- Handle pets with care and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Assess pet coats and skin for any health issues or abnormalities

- Communicate effectively with the team and owner
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences, as well as having friendly customer service when greeting and building a relationship with pet owners
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area
- Monitor and report any behavioral or health concerns observed during grooming sessions

- Use POS system to check in/out clients and rebook them for future appointments. You will NOT be responsible for answering any phone calls, texts, emails etc.

Experience
- Prior hands-on experience handling different sizes and breeds of dogs
- Basic understanding of pet behavior
- Patience and passion for working with animals - a true dog lover
- Providing excellent customer service and having a positive attitude

- Experience trimming cat nails is a plus, but not required

Requirements

- Must be at least 18 years old

- Must have reliable transportation to work

- Must be able to lift dogs if needed and not have any health conditions that could hinder your ability to complete the work

- Must take attendance and time management seriously

More Job Details

- Looking for a Tuesday-Saturday schedule from about 8:00am - 4:00pm.

- Commission-based pay, plus tips.

- Working in a small business provides a family feel! You will get the chance to really bond with your clients and their dogs, as well as the rest of our small team.

- The building is only open by appointment only. We are not offering walk-ins at this time, so you will have the chance to see your schedule in advance and plan accordingly.

- We will set up a free Google phone number for you to communicate with clients (if needed) so you are not using your personal number.
