Qualifications:
- High school graduate
- Completion of ophthalmic technician training program or a minimum of two years clinical ophthalmologic experience, preferred
- Current Certification of Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certification of Paraoptometric Technician (CPOT) preferred; new employees will be given one year from date of hire to obtain COA or CPOT certification; employees must maintain current COA or CPOT certification; certifications obtained through Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
- Current BLS certification
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs objective and subjective ophthalmic testing including visual fields, A-scans, keratometry, lensometry, fundus photography, tonometry, contact lens fitting, and refractometry.
- Assists with ordering contact lens and education to patients.
- Maintains proficiency with software products.
- Seeks out and attends educational opportunities as credits for certification and to enhance ophthalmology knowledge and skills.
- Assists with training new staff.
- Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in time management and task completion.
- Demonstrates accountability in documentation and charging for services.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Assists physicians with surgical procedures in office and same-day-surgery at the hospital.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary : $27 - $34
