Qualifications:
- Current state Physical Therapist Assistant licensure and graduate of an accredited school or college with a certificate as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- BLS certification
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to work with all age ranges in field of expertise
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides treatment as directed by the evaluating physical therapist. Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
- Observes and assesses treatment effectiveness, and discusses observations with evaluating physical therapist.
- Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities, including moist heat/ice packs, iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, mechanical traction, infrared light therapy, ultrasound, and instruction in/progression of therapeutic exercises.
- Charges patients accurately and timely in compliance with departmental policy and in compliance with specifications outlined in the annual CPT publication (current procedural terminology).
- Meets documentation standards outlined in the physical therapist assistant competencies.
- Maintains regulatory requirements, including Minnesota licensure and continuing education requirements.
- Participates in educational staff performance improvement in-services following participation with continuing education; i.e. discipline specific presentation, department presentation, journal club leader.
- Attends department meetings and in-services, as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
