Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of safety and quality. As a Food Safety and Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring safe farming practices, maintaining compliance with industry standards and conducting thorough audits to ensure product safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor farm and food safety programs in accordance with CGMP, GlobalGap, Primus and regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality audits to assess compliance with established safety protocols.
- Conducts safety trainings for both farm and packing facility staff.
- Collaborates with the Washington State Farm Bureau and serves as a point of contact for L&I
- Collect and analyze research data related to farm and food safety and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality systems and address any identified issues.
- Provides training and guidance to staff on safety practices and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of trainings, quality control inspections, audits, and corrective actions taken.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Food Safety or Work Safety program administration
- An associates degree or certificate in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
- Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect and interpret industry guidance, best practices and research data effectively.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Email
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety.
- Previous experience conducting audits is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
