Hilton Marco Island Resort and Spa is currently seeking a dynamic Chief Engineer to join the best team on Marco Island. This is a salaried position with competitive pay and benefits, generous PTO and Holiday pay, hotel discounts and more.
POSITION PURPOSE:
To maintain Hilton Marco Island hotel facility including but not limited to physical building structure, mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts walk-through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems and any other related equipment.
Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovations projects to offices and employee work areas. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.
Hires, trains, supervises, and disciplines department staff and all other staff, direction such as Painters, Mechanics and Grounds Keepers, to focus on the requirements for proper guest satisfaction.
Oversees operations of all hotel’s computer operations, to include hardware and software. Manage all rehabilitation, expansion, computer systems, and special projects.
Informs the General Manager and hotel department heads, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent, and cost-effective proposals for maintaining same. Accesses and inputs information into a computer and generates reports.
Prepares all utility, Capital Projects and R&M budgets. Adhere to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls, which includes all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules. Monitors and controls the monthly expenditures, including but not limited, to payroll.
Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducts special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and monitors energy consumption.

- P&L & Utilities Variance Reports
- Monthly Maintenance Reports
- Defect Tracker
- M.O.D. Report
OTHER:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel including holidays and weekends.
All team members are required to fully comply with the rules and standards set forth by the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort & Spa, Olshan Properties and Hilton Hotels Corporation.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the General Manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

- Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, components, and devices, HVAC systems, boilers, mechanical systems, and the maintenance and repair of all.
- Excellent knowledge of construction and building systems, all related permits, licensing, new and existing codes pertaining to public building and fire safety.
- Skilled in the use of computers and software programs associated with property operations.
- Skilled in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, materials, chemicals, and products relating to the department.
- Possess knowledge of OSHA laws pertaining to chemicals and hazardous substances, workplace safety, and the ability to train subordinates to ensure a safe working environment.
- Able to read, write, speak, hear and understand the English language to communicate with management, vendors, guests, and staff: being persuasive, clear and to the point. Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, clear, and understandable in order to formulate complex reports and communicate with the public, staff, corporate offices, and general manager.
- Able to remain informed on state-of-the-art developments effecting the safe, and effective operation of the building facility.
- Able to analyze all associated systems as to their design, intent, and effective performance.

- Able to work on a ladder up to 25 ft. high for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in enclosed or confined spaces, often in odd positions, that may be loud and wet.
- Able to move throughout the premise and visually inspect conditions requiring bending, stooping, and reaching arms overhead.
- Able to remain stationary (sitting or standing) and concentrate on tasks for long periods of time often in a high-volume high-pressure area.
- Able to use finger/hand movements for extended periods of time. Possess finger and hand dexterity to operate switches, writing instruments, a computer keyboard, etc.
- Able to grasp and lift up to 75 lbs., waist high. Ability to push or pull up to 200 lbs.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education:
- o High school diploma required
- o Graduated from an advanced training program for operating engineers recognized by the industry and trade preferred.
Experience:
- o Five years’ experience as engineering supervisor or manager required
- o Resort experience preferred
Licenses or certificates:
- Any licenses or permits that may be required by law or company regulations
- Universal EPA certification preferred
- CPO certification preferred
