POSITION PURPOSE:
Perform audit and balancing procedures to ensure that all revenues and adjustments are properly posted to appropriate guest accounts and also to assist in the front office operations during shift schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Auditing and balancing all food and beverage outlet charges with point of sale reports distribute revenues based on meal periods and profit center. File necessary food and beverage guest checks in the PBX area for the Front Office Agents easy access.
- Post and balance all charges from revenue sources not directly interfaced with property management system i.e. Movies, Telephone, & Internet
- Review room and tax report for accuracy of rate charges and initiate computer program to process after corrections.
- Balance all cashier shift reports and review supporting documentation for procedural compliance.
- Batch, balance & process credit cards… PMS system, Dollars on the Net and Revenue Journal balanced with no discrepancies.
- Perform front office operations i.e. guest check in personalized, guest wake up calls etc.
- Perform and log computer file tape backup procedures and applicable system resets.
- Distribute (Email) and file (G Drive) all audit final reports generated by property management system
OTHER:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel including holidays and weekends.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

- Pleasant and professional communication skills when interacting with hotel guest.
- Ability to perform responsibilities under pressure of time constraints to complete the night audit function.
- Analytical ability to process high volume of transactions and to resolve errors in processing that may occur.
- Detailed orientated discipline
- Basic understanding of computerized property management system, point of sale systems, call accounting processors and the ability to use, including manual dexterity, all office equipment.
- Able to climb stairs.
- Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and to delegate assignments to accomplish tasks, often within strict time limitations.
- Able to read, write, hear, speak and understand the English language to communicate with management and staff, being persuasive, clear and to the point. Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, clear and understandable in order to formulate complex reports and communicate with the public, staff, and management.
- Able to apply technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations to practical situations within the hospitality industry.
- Understanding of complex computerized financial system and the ability to utilize system and the manual dexterity to operate all office machines.
- Technical knowledge of industry accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
- Possess considerable knowledge of mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to create and maintain budgets, cost analysis reports, calculate trends in guest and team member opinion reports, etc.
- Able to move throughout premise and visually inspect conditions requiring bending, stooping and reaching arms overhead.
- Able to remain calm in emergency situations and to effectively work with the internal and external guests, some of whom require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, and provide positive and proactive solutions.
- Able to travel to various sites on and off the hotel property, while maintaining contact with the hotel, to perform essential job duties.
- Able to remain stationary (sitting or standing) and concentrate on tasks for long periods of time often in a high volume high-pressure area.
- Ability to use finger/hand movements for extended periods of time. Finger and hand dexterity to manipulate switches, writing instruments, a computer keyboard, etc.
- Ability to lift, up to shoulder height, up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work continuously from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. and remain awake.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education:
High school degree with some college courses in hotel management or accounting.
Experience:
Some experience necessary. Night Audit or Front Office experience in a computerized environment, high volume, luxury resort, preferred.
