Hilton Marco Island Resort and Spa is currently seeking an Overnight Maintenance Mechanic to join the best team on Marco Island.
POSITION PURPOSE:
To perform, without supervision, skilled corrective and preventive maintenance on the hotel’s facilities, while responding to calls for assistance. Performs protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies and disturbances
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs, without supervision, skilled maintenance throughout the facility. These duties include, but are not limited to, responding to guests’ requests, guest room preventive maintenance, equipment preventive maintenance, common area preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and parts stocking.
- Assist the Night Audit Manager in maintaining order in the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of our guests.
- Assist Night Audit as needed.
- Completes required paperwork to document finished work orders, work in progress, and work requiring parts, materials, outside assistance to complete jobs and security patrols.
- Responds to situations that require immediate action, (i.e. equipment outages, power failures, life safety emergencies, etc.).
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
OTHER:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel including holidays and weekends.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

- Possess all knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the Maintenance II position.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities troubleshoot and repair common 120v wiring system problems.
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to troubleshoot and repair common low voltage wiring system problems.
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to troubleshoot and repair common plumbing system problems.
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to troubleshoot and repair common HVAC and chilled water air handling system problems.
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to troubleshoot and repair common kitchen equipment problems.
- Possess ability to apply existing skills, training, and knowledge to new situations.
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs., occasionally waist high. Ability to push/pull supplies or equipment weighing up to 200 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 25 feet.
- Ability to perform tasks while consistently bending, stooping, kneeling or standing while supporting additional weight up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift and possible overtime.
- Ability to work under intense conditions which may be hot, noisy, loud and wet.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and offer assistance with guest problems such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning and other general dissatisfactions.
- Must have corrected vision to 20/20 in order to visually inspect the building, fix items that require acute visual ability.
- Must have adequate ability to hear alarms, calls on a handheld radio, equipment running, etc.
- Able to listen effectively, speak, read, and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
3 years experience in general mechanical/electrical maintenance.

1-year experience in commercial building or hotel maintenance experience preferred.
