Olsson Industrial Electric, a rapidly growing electrical construction company, is seeking an experienced Head of HR to lead the human resources function and support the company’s continued growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Head of HR will play a critical role in integrating and aligning the HR infrastructure across two divisions, leading the talent acquisition and development initiatives, and driving a cohesive culture throughout the company. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR leader to build upon existing structures and establish the foundation needed to support long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Leadership: Lead the HR function across both the Springfield, OR and Richland, WA divisions, ensuring alignment of HR practices, processes, and policies. Develop and enhance the HR infrastructure to support continued growth, including the hire of an HR Manager for the Richland division.
- Workforce Development: Drive the talent acquisition strategy to support the company’s growth, particularly focusing on expanding the electrician workforce by 50 employees. Partner with division leaders to enhance apprenticeship and talent development programs, creating pathways for growth and development within the company.
- Cultural Integration: Lead efforts to integrate the two divisions’ cultures, mentoring leadership through the changes, and ensuring buy-in on workforce strategies and people management best practices. Educate and guide leadership on new approaches to managing and developing talent, fostering a cohesive and forward-thinking organizational culture.
- System Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the new HRIS, Vista, to streamline HR operations, from applicant tracking and onboarding to benefits management and compliance. Ensure successful deployment and employee adoption of this system.
- Process & Policy Alignment: Assess current HR processes and policies and identify gaps. Lead the development and alignment of comprehensive HR frameworks that promote efficiency, compliance, and consistency across both divisions, while being mindful of each division’s unique needs.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, especially within a blue-collar workforce environment. Develop risk management strategies and promote a safe, productive working environment.
- Leadership Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to mentor, guide, and empower managers to adopt new HR strategies and processes. Support leadership in navigating the challenges of scaling the workforce and integrating new systems and processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, and initiatives to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training and development.
- Work with department leaders to identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.

Salary and Benefits:
- The initial starting compensation of $150,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
