Title: Assistant Construction Manager
Department: Production
FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Construction Manager
Summary: Responsible for assisting construction manager to monitor all stages of the home building process. This position may require movement between construction sites in the Indianapolis area.
Duties, responsibilities & expectations:
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist construction manager in managing subcontractor duties including scheduling, installation and quality control
- Responsible for completion of punch lists
- Prepare homes for customer home orientation
- Assist with general tasks as assigned by construction manager
- Maintains a clean job site: sweep, picks up all debris, tools and equipment
- Load and unload construction materials
- Lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs
- Perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, walking, stooping and handling of materials
- Operate, move and care for construction equipment (power washer, generator, ladder)
- Shovel materials
- Occasional digging of holes and trenches in preparation of job site construction
- Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints
- This position may have some supervisory responsibilities when needed
Minimum education, experience & knowledge:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving history
- Knowledge about residential home construction is an advantage but not required
- Must be handy with tools
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to work in all weather
