Title: Financial Analyst
Department: Accounting
Supervisor/Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Summary:
Olthof Homes is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Analyst to join the accounting team at our St. John, IN corporate office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong background in accounting and financial reporting. We are seeking a driven leader with an eye for improving processes.
This is position is on-site Monday through Friday.

Duties, responsibilities & expectations may include:
Trade Payments:
· Execute trade payments to construction and land development trades.
· Lead month end posting of work orders and Land Development invoices, including collection of Lien Waivers prior to payment.
· Onboard new trades including verifying paperwork, providing training on the company’s online portal, and responding to payment questions.
· Prepare and send 1099s annually.
· Direct insurance requirement compliance with trades.
Financial Systems:
· Prepare journal entries and calculate accruals for various aspects of the company’s monthly accounting close.
· Work with third party developers to initiate, document and review updates for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Power BI, and .NET applications.
· Assist with software setup in a highly integrated ERP system; lead data cleanup initiatives as needed.
· Support system enhancements to streamline accounting processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Real Estate Taxes:
· Work with third-party software developers to maintain and enhance a custom-built application.
· Review customer tax proration calculations, prepare proration checks, and communicate proration calculations with home purchasers.
· Answer customer real estate tax questions.
· Calculate and post monthly real estate tax accrual.
Other:
· Assist with overhead expense budgeting and upload into HomebuilderONE software.
- Cross train with other Accounting staff periodically to rotate responsibilities.
· Respond to the needs of operations management for financial data and analysis.
· Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum education, experience & knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability and drive to learn Microsoft Dynamics HomebuilderONE software.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastically embrace change and proactively seek out process improvements.
