Description
Under supervision, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) provides personal care and delegated nursing services designed to maintain the clients’ physical and emotional well-being. Our Certified Nursing Assistant will carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures, applicable to federal, state, local standards, guidelines, and regulations as directed by the House Supervisor.
Certified Nursing Assistant Responsibilities and Essential Duties
-Assist the persons served with personal cares as identified in the individuals care plan.
-Support the persons served in every day grooming.
-Medication reminders, assistance or administration as delegated by RN.
-Prepare meals as directed, following special meal plans if instructed.
-Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration if instructed. Report changes or concerns to RN.
-Encourage communication between manager and persons served as needed.
-Help each person served to reach and maintain his/her highest level of performance and independence.
-Establish rapport with persons served.
-Provide individualized care to each person served as delegated by RN and Healthcare Professional.
-Observe and report any changes in persons served to to the RN, House Supervisor, and Program Director.
-Must be able to complete physical requirements of role: standing, siting, crouching, squatting, reaching and lifting heavy items.
Requirements
Certified Nursing Assistant Required
-Experience with different personalities and backgrounds
-CPR and First Aid Certified. (We provide training!)
-Compassion and passion for supporting your community
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Availability to work every other weekend
-Pass a MN DHS Background Study
-Current Driver's License, car insurance, and a clean record
-High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
-1 year of working experience
-Valid CNA License
-Graduate of a recognized nursing assistant program and in good standing with the Minnesota NA/registry.
-Must be able to complete Olu’s Home, Inc. training programs and successfully pass associated tests to meet competency requirements to administer medication.
-Must have a negative TB Skin test or chest x-ray
