Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and debt analysis to support the company’s strategic financial goals. This role ensures accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts, collaborates with internal and external financial teams, and provides critical financial insights to leadership. The Controller plays a key role in managing multi-year financial planning, tax strategy and planning, and compliance while optimizing financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing reports.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, identifying areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Financial Planning:
- Develop and execute a multi-year global budget, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Provide real-time financial insights and multi-year projections.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine strategic financial plans.
Debt and Loan Management:
- Conduct ongoing debt analysis, recommending best options and practices.
- Manage (internal and external) company loans, ensuring compliance and financial efficiency.
- Assess financial viability when acquiring new loans.
Collaboration and Compliance:
- Work closely with the Senior Accountant to oversee cash control and financial operations.
- Partner with CPA firms for tax planning, financial strategy, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to best business practices and legal financial requirements.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies to support business growth.
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports to designated committees and boards.
- Offer recommendations and action plans based on financial analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred).
- CPA or CMA certification (Plus)
Experience:
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a related field.
Knowledge:
- Expertise in financial forecasting, profitability analysis, and debt management.
- Strong understanding of tax preparation, compliance, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
