What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Event Supervisor - Downtown position at Olympia Parking?
Job Summary:
As a Parking Event Supervisor, you'll be responsible for instructing parking attendants, directing traffic, helping guests enter and exit the facilities and maintaining a clean and safe environment for all guests and employees within parking areas. Events are typically held on evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct parking attendants during ingress and egress
- Monitor parking attendants to make sure they complete all tasks and follow all company policies and procedures
- Ensure parking attendants are providing a high level of customer service
- Greet guests upon entry
- Assist guests by scanning parking passes
- Direct guests so they park in the appropriate area
- Inform guests of current policies and procedures regarding tailgating, items allowed within the venue, and exits
- Direct the flow of traffic entering, exiting, and within the venue parking areas
- Provide a safe and clean environment by notifying the appropriate personnel
- Place traffic cones prior to the event, before egress and remove after the streets have cleared.
- Install and remove signage prior to and after events
- Monitor parking lot locations and report to manager/supervisor
- Notify guests of the current parking fee (when applicable)
- Address guest concerns
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as parking attendant
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License with good driving record
- Maintain understanding of venue layout, particularly the parking areas and exits
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand throughout the duration of a scheduled shift (minimum 4 hours)
- Ability to bend or twist at the waist to reach and move items at ground level (typically traffic cones or parking signs)
- Ability to lift of move up to 15-20 pounds with no restrictions.
- Must be capable of working outside in a variety of environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity, high wind, snow, or rain)
- Be available to work scheduled events as needed (includes nights and weekends)
