Private Music Lesson Adjunct - Orchestral Strings
Salary : $5,000 - $6,000 per 5 credit course

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of employing culturally-responsive pedagogy, utilizing disaggregated data to guide instruction, and teaching and mentoring minoritized student populations.
Olympic College’s Music program offers private individual instruction in a variety of instruments as well as for vocal. The Music program offers space for individualized instruction, as well as for students to practice and perform. Faculty provide lessons, where possible, utilizing distance learning through Zoom and / or Skype. Adjunct faculty are employed in the areas of brass instruments, wind / reed instruments, guitar, bass guitar, strings, piano, and voice.
As the college continues to expand our learning options for all, instruction will be provided through a variety of modalities, from Canvas, Zoom, Skype, and other appropriate online resources and through face-to-face instruction. Candidates should be comfortable with using these or related technology to adapt to their instruction.
Responsibilities
- Teach evening, distance, and in-person classes on the Bremerton and other campuses when requested;
- Provide quality teaching, including related preparation, grading, and record keeping;
- Provide class syllabi / guidelines to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities to meet those needs;
- Punctually communicate with students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
- Hold regularly scheduled private lessons for students for the schedule span of time enrolled (1 / 2 credit = ½ hr / week; 1 credit = 1 hr / week);
- Perform other related duties as assigned and / or required.

Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment.
This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary listed is a range based on per quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE).
Adjunct positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
