OlyCAP is offering an opportunity for a part-time Youth Services Specialist. This is an opportunity to gain experience in case management and outreach. The position is based in Port Townsend.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Identify, connect, and engage young people (24 years old and younger) experiencing housing instability with direct services, resources and referrals. Assist in making system improvements through participation in local decision-making bodies by being the conduit for the varying needs and different voices of young people in the region.
Job Functions:
- Conduct physical and virtual outreach to provide young people with access to housing and support services.
- Maintain small individual client case load and manage multiple deadlines, appointments, and data entry, including case notes and file management;
- Collaborate with other teams, school personnel and providers to ensure young people are connected to appropriate services.
- Analyze and make recommendations to develop and improve the local homeless youth systems using personal experience and feedback from youth in the region.
- Advocates for young people within the community and internally to ensure needs are being recognized, represented, and addressed.
- Attend staff meetings and other regular scheduled meetings as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Passion for ending homelessness, and belief it is possible;
- Understands the experiences of marginalized young people, particularly youth of color, LGBTQ youth and system involved youth, who are currently experiencing homeless and/or housing instability.
- Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization; is sensitive to socio-economic and cultural norms, expectations, and ways of communicating.
- Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications;
- Ability to handle stress when working with people in crisis;
- Ability to work as a team and independently;
- Ability to share lived experiences in a helpful, inspirational way; model healthful behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Has personal and recent experience of housing instability and/or homelessness.
- Efficient, self-motivated and with a desire to learn.
- GED or High School Diploma.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.57 - $21.57 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
