Job Summary

Our Service Technicians are on the front lines of our customer service team. Hot tubs, Swim spas, Saunas, and Cold Plunges provide significant health and wellness benefits when used regularly so it's important that we provide accurate and timely diagnosis and repair and our service technicians are the critical piece in making that happen.

A typical day for the Service Technician Apprentice involves working with a licensed Service Technician II on a variety of repair types both in the field and in our facilities to become proficient at servicing and repairing hot tubs, swim spas, saunas, cold plunges, and related accessories. This position is expected to accrue hours towards electrical certification and achieve the ability to work as a Service Technician I under the state modified licensing status within 6-months of the hire date. Once Modified status is achieved, the individual in this role will be promoted to Service Technician level I and will begin working from home. Once promoted from apprentice, a Service Technician I is expected to earn between $28.00 - $34.00 per hour or more. Once promoted from Service Technician I, a Service technician II is expected to earn between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour.

All equipment including company vehicle, phone, tools, fuel card, etc. are all provided. All training hours are paid including CEU's for ongoing electrical licensing requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

As mentioned in the job summary, the primary responsibility of the Service Technician Apprentice is to work under a licensed Service Technician to accrue electrical training hours while diagnose and repair our products.

Additional duties include:

  • Daily routing of individual jobs and reporting of routing to office team
  • Report job times to customers no later than the night before service
  • Accurate and thorough completion of service orders Including service notes & completion status
  • Diagnose product and accessory failures to determine failure mode
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine why a failure occurred including water chemistry analysis
  • Communicate with customers about diagnosis and repairs needed
  • Educate customers when root cause analysis shows lack of proper maintenance
  • Educate customers on proper operation and maintenance of products they purchased
  • Identify sales opportunities for additional products and services, and make recommendations
  • Timely completion of all warranty paperwork within 7 days of job completion
  • Shipping parts to respective manufacturer for warranty credit
  • Review upcoming work orders and submit daily parts orders for future jobs
  • Ensure adequate stocking levels of filters and water care products for sale to customers
  • Maintain current electrical license as required by state law
  • Update product and job knowledge on consistent basis through available channels
  • Ensure service vehicle is maintained at proper intervals
  • Ensure service vehicle is clean and organized in a professional manner
  • Keep accurate inventory counts and stock levels in service vehicle
  • Complete 48 hours of in-class CEU’s towards satisfying the state licensing requirement


Qualifications and Skills

To be qualified for this position applicants must:

  • Possess a current, valid Washington state driver's license
  • Have no more than one minor moving infraction during the previous three years
  • Be eligible to obtain a Washington State Electrical Trainee Card
  • Previous experience in repair or maintenance is preferred
  • Mechanical skills are preferred
