The Clinical Documentation Specialist I, RN facilitates accurate documentation for severity of illness and quality in the medical record. This involves extensive record review and interaction with physicians, health information management professionals, and nursing staff. This position actively participates in Clinical Documentation Improvement Task Force meetings and education of staff in the CDMP® (Compliant Documentation Management Program®) software about the Clinical Documentation Improvement process.

- Evening $3.00/hour
- Night $5.00/hour
- Weekend Premium $4.50/hour
- Standby Premium $4.00/hour
- Charge Premium $3.25/hour
- Float/PM Premium $2.50/hour
- Per Diem Premium 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)
- Certification Premium $2.00/hour
The Clinical Documentation Specialist I, RN facilitates accurate documentation for severity of illness and quality in the medical record. This involves extensive record review and interaction with physicians, health information management professionals, and nursing staff. This position actively participates in Clinical Documentation Improvement Task Force meetings and education of staff in the CDMP® (Compliant Documentation Management Program®) software about the Clinical Documentation Improvement process.
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- At least five years of professional nursing experience required. Preference is for nursing experience to have occurred in a clinical/acute setting.
- Two or more years of recent, full time equivalency nursing experience in adult acute care (medical/surgical, critical care, emergency department, or PACU) is highly preferred.
- Washington State RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Passing grade in Nuance CDI Adult Didactic Training or other CDI based clinical exam specified by OMC within 60 days of hire, required.
