Job Description
The Clinical Supervisor of the Intensive Care/Telemetry Unit is responsible for the management of patient care and personnel activities, assisting the Director of the Intensive Care/Tele Unit. This position assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care of patients, and of nursing educational programs in the ICU/Tele unit. The clinical supervisor participates in nursing educational needs assessments, educational implementation, and quality improvement activities, and assists with input for annual staff performance evaluations. The clinical supervisor assists in monitoring and investigating Safety Risk Management Reports via the Safety Event Manager (SEM) as assigned by the Director, and assists with updating, changing, and implementing new policies and procedures by informing staff, educating staff, and ensuring competence within staff members’ scope of practice and staff members’ annual competency check-off requirements. The clinical supervisor assists in the development of the residency program for new-graduate ICU nurses, and promotes and leads interdisciplinary rounding in conjunction with the unit charge nurses.
Education
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
Experience
Minimum three years’ ICU/Tele unit experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure/Credentials
BLS required. ACLS required. Washington State RN License.
