JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supports the Oncology Nursing Associate Director in the management of patient care in Medical Oncology department and supervision of the Medical Oncology RNs and Medical Assistants. Under the direction of the physician, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of Cancer Center patients. Participates in patient and family teaching. Coordinates with multidisciplinary team caring for the patients within medical oncology and with outside medical providers. Coordinates administrative activities in support of a project or study, developing policies, procedures, research data collection tools and administrative materials. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. May be required to handle emergency situations.

EDUCATION
- Associate degree in nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum three years of recent acute care nursing experience doing direct patient care, patient education and care coordination required.
- Experience working with cancer patients in a role that included pain and symptom management, patient education and case management preferred.
- Strong managerial and process improvement experience preferred.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse license, required.
- BLS and Oncology Certified Nurse (ONS) certification required within one year.
