- Evening $3.00/hour
- Night $5.00/hour
Premiums:
- Weekend Premium $4.50/hour
- Standby Premium $3.50/hour
- Lead Premium $1.50/hour
- Per Diem Premium 15% (on base, in lieu of benefits)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides clerical and program support for the Registered Dieticians. Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling patient appointments, making reminder calls, greeting and welcoming guests/patients, organizing and archiving records, filing, entering billing information for the department, and compiling quality assurance data. The Program Assistant for Nutrition Services also is responsible for assisting Registered Dieticians in providing nutritional counseling and education to patients, collecting dietary data, monitoring food intake, implementing meal plans based on dietary restrictions, performing nutritional assessments under supervision and maintaining patient records, all while adhering to established guidelines and standards within a hospital setting. Maintains educational materials and provides back-up coverage for other clerical staff as requested. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are critical to the success of this position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Office management training preferred.
- Knowledge of medical and nutritional terminology preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Two years related experience in a receptionist/clerical capacity in a healthcare setting required.
- Two years’ experience in working with patient monitoring regarding food intake and body weight strongly preferred.
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
