What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Olympus Technical Services?
Olympus Technical Services, Inc., an employee-owned environmental services firm specializing in hazardous waste site remediation, mine reclamation, environmental engineering, and emergency spill response is seeking a temporary Heavy Equipment Operator for a 100% travel position based out of Helena, Montana.
Duties:
Heavy equipment operation, with focus on Bulldozer operation on Cat D6 or equivalent with GPS function.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
Perform routine inspections of the equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years operating heavy equipment, prefer Cat D6 or equivalent sized bulldozers equipped with GPS.
CDL preferred but not required.
40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HazWoper) preferred, but not necessary for qualified individual.
Good driving record.
Mechanical capabilities required.
Ability to lift 80 pounds.
Must pass background check.
Ability to pass random drug and alcohol tests.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of project and employee information.
Ability to work well with others on a team.
Compensation:
Hourly $30.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE
Overtime pay 1.5 times hourly wage.
Workdays and schedule will vary based on job location and season. Most jobs paid prevailing wage. Travel expenses paid.
