We are seeking a highly motivated analyst to join us in support of our firm’s investment banking activities. The analyst will provide support to senior team members including firm administrative duties, research projects, and financial modeling and analysis. The analyst will develop his/her skills through broad and frequent exposure to senior bankers in a transactional, deadline driven environment that requires strong work ethic, teamwork, and the ability to travel periodically. This is an in-person role which can be based in either St. Louis, MO or New York, NY.


Responsibilities

  • Perform valuation and financial modeling tasks including discounted cash flow and comparable transaction analyses.
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyze the impacts of different capital structures on potential M&A transactions.
  • Prepare correspondence, marketing information, and presentations for clients.
  • Research and compile market data, maintain internal databases.
  • Participate in all stages of transaction execution, including the preparation of marketing pitches, management presentations, confidential information memoranda, due diligence, and legal documentation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Two years or more of experience in a quantitative or finance-related position.
  • Experience in corporate strategic development, investment banking, transaction advisory, or accounting is not required but preferred. 
  • Strong academic background and undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Exceptional skills with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), ability to create financial models from scratch, and aptitude for working with other software and web-based applications.
  • The position entails interaction with clients and other third parties including accountants and legal counsel. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. beverage industry is not required but is a plus.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to take initiative; ability to work in a team environment; flexible and organized thinker; ability to work with strict deadlines.


Other Qualifications/Training

  • CVA or CPA certification is a plus.
  • FINRA examinations for investment banking are not currently required but may be in the future.  Future progression may also entail obtaining CVA or CPA certifications. OMAC will provide training materials and coaching as needed for analyst demonstrating the ability for growth.
