What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Scribe position at Omaha Primary Eye Care, PC?
Summary: Tired of being over worked due to staffing shortages? We are looking to add to our staff of over 20 members to ensure they get to spend quality time away from work! Come join Best of Omaha's top rated Optometrist office since 2011, located at 180th & Pacific. Optometric Technicians are responsible for direct-patient care. Scribes document medical finding and treatment recommendations in the electronic health record that were presented by the doctoring during the eye exam.
Patient Care Duties Include:
- Use auto-refractor/topographer, tonometer (NCT), visual-field screening, optomap, OCT, visual-field threshold
- Conduct depth perception and color deficiency tests
- Conduct visual acuity
- Dilate patients per doctor's orders
- Contact Lens insertion and removal training
- Present contact lens pricing and insurance benefits to patients
Administrative Duties Include:
- Submit contact lens orders for patients
- Restock supplies and ensure cleanliness of exam rooms
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Check patients in and out and collect payments
Qualifications:
- previous Optometric/Ophthalmic Scribe or Tech experience is a plus, but not required
- Excellent verbal, Written and interpersonal skills
- CPO, CPOA or CPOT certification desired, but not required
- Customer service driven
- Team player
Salary & Benefits:
· Salary based on Prior work experience and certifications
· Full Time 37-40 hours per week
