Apprentice Streetlight Worker

OPPD's T&D Constuction department is looking a Street Light Apprentice to join their team! This role will assist in the construction, maintenance, and operation activities involving the District¿s street light responsibilities.

Specific responsibilities of the position includes:

Assist in the Construction, and maintain the District¿s streetlight responsibilities

• Assist in the construction, maintenance and operation of all of the District¿s streetlight responsibilities in a manner that ensures a high level of customer service, system reliability and employee safety
• Responsible for performing assigned construction and maintenance activities in accordance with the District¿s construction standards.
• Complete work to restore streetlight outages, conduct inspections, repair/replace conductors and cables, repair structures dead-at-base, repair fixtures on-line or in the shop, maintain POL¿s, and locate faults.
• Must ensure that job-sites are maintained in an orderly fashion with a high regard for private property and public and public safety.
• Operate construction equipment including, reach trucks, pole trucks and other equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic tools and various hand tools.

Work Schedule: Shift

Required:

• Requires an Associate¿s Degree from an accredited utility line program.
• Must have a Class A Commercial Driver¿s License.
• Required to pass a pre-employment physical capability test.
• Must have good communications and customer service skills.
• Must live within a 35 mile radius of Center/Area Office

Hourly Pay: Step 1 $36.19
