Responsibilities

Department: Emergency Preparedness

Business Unit: Safety and Facilities

Location: Energy Plaza, Omaha, NE

Duration: May - December 2025

Work Schedule: Will be determined by student's class schedule

Pay: $19.86 - $24.28

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with plan and program updates based on recent state or federal updates, lessons learned from recent events or other necessary determinates.
• Assist with data gathering and plan development within the business continuity program.
• Provide assistance and coordination with the emergency response team (ERT) training, meetings, and planning efforts.
• Partner with the OPPD EM team to create and/or facilitate exercises for internal program efforts
  
  

Qualifications

Specific fields of study required:

University of Nebraska - Omaha Emergency Management Degree Program

• Junior or Senior university level education in emergency management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Must be able to maintain positive and productive relationships with representatives of outside agencies and businesses.
• 2.5 GPA or higher is required
• Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university
  
  

Technical Ability (i.e. software):

• Knowledge and use of Microsoft products, including but not limited to word, excel and PowerPoint.
