The assistant director is also accountable to administrative staff and is responsible for the operation of the site in the absence of the site director. The assistant director is supervised by the site director.
- Assistant Site Director starting wage is $16.50/hr
- Hours: 6:45 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Duties include:
- Being responsible for the safety and well-being of each child
- Knowing the state regulations
- Interaction with parents-greeting, communication (good/bad)
- Recording personal in-service hours
- Knowing where all records are kept and being able to show them when required
- Knowing and carrying out all procedures at the site
- In the absence of the director, supervising children which will include discipline (verbal/written), follow up with parent and informing the director upon their return.
- Attending staff meetings
- Taking directions from the site director
- Helping to serve snacks
- Helping to clean up
- Ordering food and milk
- Creating the menu for the site (after school snack)
- Preparing an activity.
The assistant director must meet the qualifications set by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, which include up to 12 in-service hours each school year based on hire date. The assistant director must have a high school diploma/GED, be currently certified in CPR and first aid, must have 1500 hours of verifiable childcare experience and must submit an annual health examination form and felony statement.
