Job Title: Picnic Crew Member
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: Seasonal (flexible schedule available a minimum of 24 hours per week including weekends and holidays)
Pay Rate: $14.25/hour
Summary:
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Picnic Crew Member to follow standardized food handling guidelines and ensure quality and professionalism for each event. Picnic Crew Members will be responsible for assisting with set-up, serving, cleaning and tear down of each catered event. This position reports directly to the Catering Assistant Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with prepping, set-up, serving, cleaning and tear down of each event.
- Follow proper food handling procedures.
- Comply with all Food & Safety Handling procedures.
- Assist with catering departments recycling program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
- Must be available to work at least 24 hours each week during the summer season.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays and odd hours. Schedule is variable based on demand. Days, nights and weekends may be required.
- Work is normally preformed in outside facilities.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in food service preferred.
- Good communication skills, leadership and time management.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- General knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
