Position Description

The Outside Sales Associate for Used Equipment is responsible for driving sales, fostering customer relationships, and expanding Omaha Track’s market presence within the railroad and industrial sectors. This role focuses on selling used railroad equipment and ensuring a seamless sales process, including maintaining customer satisfaction and promoting the company's values. Extensive travel is required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and develop new business opportunities.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Promote and sell company equipment, trucks, and assets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conduct meetings to assess customer needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize sales while maintaining profitability.
  • Identify and engage prospective customers in the railroad and industrial equipment markets.
  • Research industry trends and market opportunities to drive growth.
  • Represent Omaha Track at industry events, trade shows, and customer site visits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance of sold equipment.
  • Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in CRM software.
  • Adhere to company policies, including safety protocols and ethical standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and ensure compliance in all sales activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of equipment or track sales experience, preferably in industrial, retail, or railroad sectors.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building trust and credibility.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 50%) to meet business objectives.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including industrial settings and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to lift and transport promotional materials or equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).

Compensation 

  • $1000.00 base salary paid weekly
  • Sales Commission-New Equipment sales-5% of net profit 
  • Sales Commission-Used Equipment sales-1% on gross profit
