What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packer - OMAKAI Coconut Grove position at OMAKAI?

Duties and responsibilities
- Answer phone calls – this includes answering all phone calls in a friendly and professional manner and helping customers, employees, or vendors or refer callers to a kitchen manager when requested or necessary, and helping customers with delivery issues
- Handle delivery orders – this includes monitoring the delivery system and packing them accurately and professionally while adhering to all internal and government-mandated food and beverage handling protocols
- Know the menu – this position requires learning the entire menu accurately and applicants are expected to learn the menu in its entirety in 30 calendar days
- Perform side jobs – this position requires performing side job duties before, during, and after each shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant experience highly preferred but not necessary
- Japanese cuisine knowledge a plus
- Able to provide top-notch phone customer service
- Display a professional, positive, and friendly demeanor at all times
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale system
- Willingness to take instructions in a professional and understanding manner
- Ability to solve basic math problems
Working conditions
The restaurant handles a variety of fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits, wheat products, rice, dry seaweed, sauces, and many other food and beverage products. Candidates with food allergies must inform management during the application process. Noise levels may vary depending on how busy the kitchen is.
Physical requirements
Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time. Job requires some bending and kneeling in order to reach certain items such as bags, to-go boxes, plates, spoons, sauces, beverages, etc… Job requires moderate lifting (maximum 35 lbs.). Job requires maneuvering inside a kitchen. Job requires talking to customers on the phone and kitchen staff, delivery drivers, vendors, and other staff in person.
