Overall Responsibility

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to manage the estimation process for major Commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for providing support to the company in the capacity of a senior estimator for commercial projects ranging from <$150K to $50MM. The ideal candidate will have experience successfully estimating projects for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor.

The Commercial Construction Estimator will utilize his/her expertise to help secure work with current and new clients. He/She will deliver contract proposal estimates, post-award purchase orders and subcontracts on a wide variety of commercial new construction, renovation, and Individual trade projects.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for various project types primarily focused on the working document / competitive bid stage.
• Obtain all necessary information from the design firms, owner reps, and consultants to complete the estimate.
• Conduct site tours and surveys to determine existing conditions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors and provide follow up contact with them on specific ITB/RFP solicitations to obtain bid coverage.
• Verify unit cost pricing for each trade through historical data and/or vendor contacts.
• Check local markets for workforce and material availability and lead times.
• Review, quantify, and price cost savings/value engineering opportunities.
• Analyze and compare bids in respective trades and compare with projected budget costs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have 6-8 years of experience estimating for a general contractor on projects ranging from $250k-$50MM
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction means and methods is required to visualize all related trade items.
• Proficient understanding of PC based applications such as Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam or other preferred software that will be provided by the company.
• Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work
• Ability to communicate with all participants involved in the estimating process. Must be a team player but also work independently
• Skilled at working on multiple projects at one time while meeting the client's schedule of deliverables.
• Architectural, engineering, or construction course work and/or degree preferred
• Proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information

Salary & Benefits: $65,000-$150,000 In the form of a base Salary based upon experience and qualifications in addition to commission on awarded and completed projects.
