Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center, emergency medicine, and geriatrics, and will be comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient environments. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care while promoting their dignity and independence.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Monitor patient health by observing changes in condition and reporting them to nursing staff.
- Help with mobility assistance, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Support medical staff during procedures in various departments such as OR, medical-surgical units, and teaching hospitals.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare settings such as Level I or Level II Trauma Centers, emergency medicine, inpatient care, outpatient services, geriatrics, and medical-surgical environments is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory at the time of hire; training will be provided if necessary.
