PCA Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, particularly in geriatrics, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including clinics and hospitals. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to individuals who require assistance with daily activities due to health challenges or age-related issues.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance patients' quality of life.
• Monitor patients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Help with mobility and transportation needs, including assisting patients in moving safely within the facility.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals in a teaching hospital or trauma center setting.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Experience or training in geriatrics or related fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical-surgical environments, emergency medicine, or pediatric intensive care (PICU) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations typical of Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
