What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waste Management Coordinator position at Omega 365?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact, monitor performance and ensure service delivery meets operational needs.
- Promote adherence to safety and environmental procedures, and monitor compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Establish KPIs, controls, and performance monitoring programs for waste contractors.
- Oversee day-to-day coordination of waste services, ensuring alignment with operational, drilling, and other group requirements.
- Offer expertise on waste stream-specific management, landfill operations, and environmental monitoring.
- Participate in improving waste management activities, implementing new KPIs, and promoting waste hierarchy (avoid/reduce/reuse/recycle/dispose).
- Coordinate monthly SHE and waste data reporting, and review contractor performance reports.
- Review and validate contractor invoices, identify cost efficiency opportunities, and forecast future waste service requirements.
- Monitor company assets supplied for contractor use, ensuring serviceability and cleanliness.
- Assist in reporting and investigating incidents and near misses, and monitor spill response capacity.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate and cultivate high standards of safety, health, and environmental awareness.
- Possess 5 years of experience in environmental and/or waste management.
- Possess understanding and knowledge of local waste regulations and permitting.
- Hold safety leadership qualifications or certifications, and incident investigation training (e.g., Taproot).
- Hold a Degree or Diploma in Applied Science, Environmental Management, or equivalent.
- Exhibit good interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to interface professionally with contractors and stakeholders.
- Possess knowledge of safety management tools, spill response, and landfill operational practices, and general environmental awareness.
