Moving Helper

Omega Movers in Springdale, Arkansas is growing! We are hiring contractors for our part-time Moving Helper position. The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, able to follow directions, and committed to quality workmanship. Our movers have the ability to earn raises and promotions. Moving helpers assist with packing, wrapping, loading, unloading, and staging personal effects during customer moves in Northwest Arkansas.

Compensation:

• $18 to $20 an hour (depending on experience)
• Contract Position - 5 to 20 hours a week

Responsibilities:

• Pack and label personal items, dishes, wardrobes, and other items.
• Securely wrap furniture, oversized items, and other specialty items to ensure safe transportation.
• Load and unload items into the moving truck, residence, business, or storage facility.
• Deliver exceptional customer service. Follow instructions and adhere to professional standards during every move.
• Work together with your moving crew to securely pack, load, and unload customers’ personal effects during moves.
• Assist with safely moving oversized items including gun safes, pianos, and certain brands of appliances.
• Ensure a commitment to quality during moves – do things right, don’t take shortcuts, and leave it better than you found it.
• Accurately disassemble and reassemble furniture.
• Communicate with customers in a professional, engaging, and respectful manner.
• Collect moving debris, wraps, blankets, packing materials, and trash during and after moves.
• Assist with cleaning the moving truck after customer moves.
• Other duties as necessary to ensure safe, effective, and efficient moves.

Requirements:

• Highschool diploma, GED, or 6 months experience as a moving helper, mover, or other labor positions.
• Be dependable, detail oriented, and have a desire to learn. Must be able to actively listen and effectively communicate with clients, team members, and crew leaders.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Proficient at using mobile applications, email, and computers.
• The Moving Helper and Mover Positions requires frequent physical exertion, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, balancing, stooping/bending, reaching, and handling. The ability to lift and load heavy items repeatedly is essential: up to 100 pounds independently and more with assistance. Prolonged standing is required - must be able to stand for extended periods. This position requires working outdoors in both hot and cold climates for extended durations.
