In this hands-on role, you’ll drive the reliability and performance of critical equipment and systems, applying your mechanical knowledge and preventive maintenance skills to develop policies, perform inspections, and refine Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs. Your work will safeguard plant operations, maximize asset availability, and support facility expansion projects.

DUTIES
Provide support on PSM Mechanical Integrity (MI) requirements (e.g., inspections and repairs to pressure vessels and piping) for various processing units, often at multiple / concurrent time frames;
Develop new Mechanical Integrity procedures and support and assure compliance to all Company policies and procedures
Use probability and statistic tools for risk and process hazard assessments.
Comply with specifications defining requirements for design, construction, inspection, testing, decommissioning, and integrating new components with aging infrastructure.
Interpret reliability data and provide recommendations on how the data can be used to measure and improve performance and reliability.
Assist in project development, scope identification, QA / QC, installation, commissioning, start-up, and work activities on equipment upgrades, repairs, and new installations.
Develop strategies for planning, inspecting, and maintaining the reliability of assets throughout the equipment’s lifecycle.
Work with operations, engineering, maintenance, contract, and safety personnel on all aspects of equipment integrity including determination of asset criticality, RBI analysis, mapping of corrosion circuits and CML, etc
Conduct root cause failure analysis investigations on failed equipment, develop action plans to eliminate repeat failures, and implement corrective actions, as necessary
Work with operations to identify key areas for reliability improvements and develop action plans to drive higher asset availability
Providing proposals for inspection and fixed equipment-related expense and capital budgets.
Optimize preventative maintenance tasks and activities, identify gaps and develop corrective action plans
Lead mechanical integrity and asset integrity programs to maximize equipment reliability.
Schedule inspection activities with in-house and outsourced resources in accordance with PSM regulations.
Facilitates the PSV and PVSV regulatory inspections and recertification’s.
Oversee condition monitoring activities and communicate to maintenance for improved predictive maintenance actions.
Obtain reliability data from field studies or database and apply for analysis using well-defined engineering techniques, pand procedures to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput.
Determine root cause failure analysis (RCFA) of equipment failures and performance evaluations of equipment and supporting systems.
Keeps up to date on technology, programs, and services to attain the highest quality of mechanical integrity program.
Present to management and customers on specific reliability-focused program.
Assist in the sites bi-annual PSM and VPP audit for Mechanical Integrity and asset integrity criteria.
Complies with and facilitates all change management processes in his department.
Conduct corrosion analysis modeling and calculate the date of retirement of all PSM-regulated equipment on site.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical or Corrosion Engineering OR will consider AS with extensive experience
4 years of experience in a PSM-regulated industry such as Oil, Gas, Pipeline, Refinery, Pulp / Paper, Chemical Plant operations , etc.
Working knowledge of corrosion, metallurgy, design, and inspection techniques
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, pressure equipment data sheets, and other mechanical integrity-related documents.
Knowledge of pipe specifications, ASME Boiler and Pressure vessel Code IV, and ASME process piping standard (B31.3).
Experienced with the design and / or maintenance of vessels, tanks and piping
Experience with specific materials for the construction of piping and vessel systems
Prior experience of Non-Destructive Evaluation practices and techniques
Experienced in the inspection / test procedures used to assess vessels, tanks, piping, and heat exchangers
May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
Familiarity and understanding of the OSHA 1910.119 PSM and EPA 29 CFR Part 68 Risk Management Standards with emphasis on Mechanical Integrity requirements.
Knowledgeable in API 510, 570, 571, 580 and 653 codes.
Knowledgeable of applications of various MI principles and tools.
