Information Security Engineer at Omega Systems
Location: Hybrid (Reading, PA or Stamford, CT)
Division: SOC (Security & Technology)
Position Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; One weekend per month (Sunday, 8 AM to 12 PM)

Omega Systems is seeking a dedicated information security engineer to join our SOC team. This vital role supports Omega Systems' customers and employees, ensuring robust security across computer networks and systems. Ideal candidates will be skilled multitaskers with a sharp eye for detail, capable of anticipating potential security threats to stay one step ahead of cybercriminals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the organization’s information security strategy and best practices.
- Recommend security enhancements and develop strategies for incident response and recovery.
- Participate in the education and training of the workforce on information security awareness.
- Install and manage security measures such as firewalls and encryption programs to protect sensitive information.
- Conduct regular network scans, penetration tests, and monitor for security breaches or intrusions.
- Lead incident response and forensic investigations to assess and mitigate impacts from security breaches.
- Design infrastructure to alert of detected vulnerabilities and assist in recovery of data post-security incidents.
Qualifications:
- Required: 3 years of information technology experience supporting inbound customer requests or issue resolution;
- High school diploma;
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field MS in Computer Science or Information Management;
- Certifications such as CISSP, ISSEP, or CEH;
- Professional experience in a system administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications;
- Direct experience with antivirus software, intrusion detection, firewalls, and content filtering;
- Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architecture;
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods;
- Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards and procedures;
- Proficient in risk assessment and disaster recovery planning;
- Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management;
- Ability to read and use the results of mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software;
- Strong understanding of endpoint security solutions, including File Integrity Monitoring and Data Loss Prevention
On-Call Rotation: Monthly, to handle escalated incidents.
