Omega Systems is looking to add a Project Engineer to our team based in Reading PA or Mt Holly, NJ. In-office is preferred for your new hire introductory period after which a remote schedule can be discussed with the Manager.
Position Summary:
A Project Engineer designs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains physical and virtual computer servers; maintains email accounts; and performs specific client projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs and implements projects that include upgrades, office/workstation relocations, server migrations, server virtualization, Office 365 migration, and more.
- Configure, deploy, update, and maintain networking equipment such as firewalls, switches, access points, and more
- Work with the Sales Team to ensure proper solution delivery and be a representative of the technical team to clients.
- Research to resolve complex technical issues escalated by the service desk team.
- Provide technical and professional mentorship to junior staff and be an escalation point for challenging technical issues.
- Update and create documentation for client’s networks and ensure all standard documentation is created and maintained.
- Perform high-level onsite or remote dispatch to troubleshoot/resolve client requests
- Provide timely communication and resolution of issues with client.
- Display strong time management skills with the ability to lead projects with little to no oversight
- At times travel to client sites to help resolve issues.
- Ensure that all work performed is documented in ConnectWise, and completed in a timely, accurate and detailed manner.
- Contribute ideas to strategically address client IT needs.
Skill and Experience
- Strong understanding of complex networking methodologies. (Routing and Switching).
- Proficient with enterprise-grade firewall platforms (i.e., Palo Alto, Fortinet) is strongly preferred.
- Azure and AWS experience is a plus(Networking and instance deployment).
- Comfortable with PowerShell.
- Windows Server experience. (Configuration and Troubleshooting).
- Exchange, 2010, 2013, 2016, Office 365 preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft InTune and Autopilot.
- Remote desktop technologies (Windows RDS, Citrix) a plus.
- Virtualization knowledge (VMware and Hyper V).
Criteria for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, CIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6 years of IT industry experience, preferably 2-4 years experience implementing projects.
- 3 years of client-facing technical role and experience communicating with C-level executives.
- 3 years of MSP experience is strongly preferred.
- RMM tool familiarity.
- All-star verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on detail.
- Client-focused with an ability to maintain relationships and resolve conflicts.

Qualifications
Salary : $75,000 - $110,000
